Statement under the German BFSG

Hotel Robben – Grollander Krug e.K. is committed to making this website accessible in accordance with the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG) and its implementing regulation (BFSGV). The applicable standard is EN 301 549 and therefore the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, conformance level AA.

Compliance status

This website is fully compliant with the requirements above, with the exception of the areas listed under “Non-accessible content”.

What we have done

  • The site can be operated entirely with the keyboard; the keyboard focus is clearly visible everywhere.
  • Every page starts with a “Skip to content” link and is structured with landmarks (header, navigation, main content, footer).
  • All text meets a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1, large text at least 3:1.
  • All informative images have alternative text; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Forms have visible labels; errors are described in plain language and announced to screen readers.
  • Dialogs (table reservation, image view) trap the focus, close with Esc and return the focus afterwards.
  • The site can be zoomed to 200 % and used at 320 pixels width without horizontal scrolling.
  • Motion and transitions are switched off when “reduce motion” is set in the operating system. Nothing plays sound or video automatically.
  • The Windows high-contrast mode (forced colors) is supported.
  • The site works without cookies, without tracking and without external fonts.

Non-accessible content

The following content is not accessible, or only partly accessible, for the reasons given:

  1. PDF documents (food, wine and drinks menus, the events folder, meeting packages, weekly menus, flyers): these files come from the hotel’s kitchen and events office and are currently not tagged. The essential content of these PDFs is available as accessible HTML text on this website – the food menu on Menu, the prices and packages on Celebrations, Meetings and Rooms, the weekly menu on What’s On. We are converting the PDFs step by step.
  2. English version: the English pages carry the same information as the German ones. The printed menus, drinks lists and event documents are available in German only.
  3. Photo gallery: all images carry alternative text. They convey an impression of the house; the information they show is also available as text on the respective pages.
